Cabin shots of the largest VW-branded SUV leak online

Volkswagen keeps testing its new full-size SUV coming as the production implementation of the SMV Concept shown in the video here. The latest couple of spy pics enables us to peek inside its interior.

It is official that the new – and still unnamed – SUV is a whopping 5.1 meters (16.73 feet) long. This makes it 60mm (2.4”) longer than the U.S.-spec Atlas. It comes based on the MQB platform and has a 2+3+2 seating formula.

Technical specifications haven’t been fully disclosed yet, but we know that customers in China will be getting turbocharged engines 2.0 and 2.5 liters large, mated to a pre-selective 7-speed DCT and all-wheel drive system.

As for the interior spy shots revealed today, they expose the digital dashboard of the car, its downsized center tunnel with a niche for storing bottles and other miscellaneous items, and cup holders between the front seats. Note also the rather small gear selector.
