Toyota Urban Cruiser due out in India on Sept. 23

The Toyota Urban Cruiser – which is essentially a Suzuki Vitara Brezza rebadged for the Indian market – will be hitting that market next Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

The miniature crossover is under four meters (13.1 feet) long and sports a different front clip – the radiator grille, the bumper and the badges all let you tell it from the Suzuki.

The inside, on the other hand, mimics the Vitara Brezza in almost everything except for the new trim materials and especially the equipment. The base spec is much better appointed with two airbags, rear parking sensors, a stabilization system, a reversing camera and even such niceties as a 7-inch multimedia system and a HVAC.

The twin models share the same engine model: a 1.5-liter gasoline non-turbo rated at 105 hp (82 kW). Available transmissions include five-speed manual and four-speed automatic, and both benefit from 48-volt engine starters improving initial throttle response. The drive stays fixed on the front axle.
