Porsche Taycan becomes marque’s no.1 best-seller in the EU

Porsche has published its August sales report in Europe, highlighting that the all-electric Taycan was the single best-selling model with as many as 1,183 units sold. Even the legendary Porsche 911 fell 86 points short of that number, while Panamera sales were utterly cannibalized.

The Taycan ranked 15th in the ranking of all purely electric cars sold in Europe. The ranking is sorted by volume and includes all models, even the cheapest ones available. It also made it into the top-5 of E-Class electric vehicles, claiming the fifth position next to the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6.

Another important point following from the sales report is that the market launch of the Taycan literally crushed the sales of Porsche’s other model, Panamera. The gas-powered super coupe took a 71% hit last month, dropping to just 278 units sold. This would explain the automaker’s desire to electrify that model as soon as possible.
