Check out a mysterious Jaguar-like prototype

The pictures you see here were spontaneously discovered in the patent office databases of China and EU. Industry pros suppose that the prototype car is a Jaguar – and none other than the successor to the iconic mid-engined XJ220.

The EU patent office received these images a year ago, while China obtained them this March. Jaguar Land Rover has not commented on the discovery yet.

As for the historical XJ220 model, you may watch the video to get a better idea of what kind of vehicle it was. Powered by a 3.5-liter V8 twin-turbo pumping out 550 hp (410 kW) and up to 644 Nm (475 lb-ft) of torque, it sent the momentum to the wheels via five-speed manual and hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in mere 3.7 seconds. The top speed amounted to 350 km/h (217 mph).

Another possible explanation is that the car is a production version of the Jaguar C-X75 Concept.
