Sol E10X breaks cover in China

The JAC-Volkswagen joint venture founded the Sol car marque a few years ago to produce all-electric vehicles under it. However, its popularity left much to be desired, because the cars were mostly rebadged JAC models. The Sol E10X, which debuted at the ongoing Auto Guangzhou fair, is no different.

The EV comes based on the JAC iEV6E (see video) and has new headlights, front bumper and cabin to show for being a standalone model. The center tunnel, multimedia display and dashboard also count under improvements, but the rest stays stock.

Powering the hatchback is a single magnet-based electric motor rated at 61 PS (60 hp / 45 kW) and 150 Nm (110 lb-ft) of torque.

Production remains slated for next spring.
