Video: Pininfarina reveals more about its Battista hypercar

The Pininfarina Battista debuted as a concept car this spring and still hasn’t been finalized – but work on the production version is in full swing, as evidenced by this latest video.

The development crew has just wrapped up a series of driving tests in Nardo, where engineers tested the efficiency of the chassis, brakes, forged wheels, torque vectoring control, and body kit. They also tweaked the audio system that the Battista will use to imitate engine sound both outside and inside the cabin.

The hypercar will now be driven on public roads for further testing.

The Battista comes in a production run limited to 150 units, each fitted with quad electric motors jointly rated at 1,900 PS (1,874 hp / 1,400 kW) and 2,300 Nm (1,700 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) will take less than two seconds, and the top speed will lie at 350 km/h (217 mph). Once fully charged, the car should offer around 500 kilometers (310 miles) of driving range.
