GMA T.50s breaks cover with near 1:1 power-to-mass ratio

GMA has officially unveiled its T.50s ‘Niki Lauda’, a racecar dedicated to the pilot who brought Gordon Murray’s Brabham BT46B to victory at the 1978 Formula One championship. The vehicle is not road-legal and will be limited to 25 production units.

Like its ‘civilian’ counterpart – the T.50 – the newcomer utilizes a four-liter V12, although it now produces all of 712 PS (702 hp / 524 kW) and 485 Nm (358 lb-ft) of torque. Like before, a dedicated starter-generator powers a giant fan in the rear to maximize downforce under all conditions.

The two-door racer weighs in at mere 852 kilograms (1,878 pounds) and features a fin-like aerodynamic attachment that links the rear wing with the roof scoop. The rest of the body kit is also new, as is the slammed racing-grade suspension.

Prices start at £3,100,000. The production will not begin until January 2023.
