Haval unleashes another canine at the Shanghai expo

A while after debuting its SUV named DaGou (Big Dog), Haval has come to the Shanghai Auto show with another similar project dubbed the X-Dog.

As you can see for yourself by comparing the photos of the new car and the video of the DaGou, the two have plenty in common. Similarities spread as far as the elongated hood, the round headlights, the large front bumper, and the boxy body design. Other notable features include deep-seated pull-up handles, white roof and a-pillars, and wheels and side mirrors finished in black and white.

The interior is dominated by a giant multimedia display, a digital dashboard and steering wheel screens. There are even additional displays on the door panels and the center tunnel.

Powering the premium ride is a plug-in hybrid system that centers on a 1.5-liter IC engine. Haval says a non-electrified version will also be coming, without announcing any further specifics.

According to the manufacturer, the production car should emerge in 2022.
