Check out a rare blue Ferrari F40 worth £1M

It is believed that nearly all Ferrari F40 models ever produced came finished in the marque’s trademark red, making this vivid blue example just sold in the UK a first worldwide.

The car is a national celebrity in its own right, having once belonged to blogger and photographer Sam Moores. It even has its own Instagram channel, and Brits can purchase life-sized replicas of it. It rolled off the conveyor belt 32 years ago and traveled to Switzerland before making it to Japan, where tuner Liberty Walk repainted it in white and put it in an F40 LM-style body kit.

UK-based Joe Macari Performance Cars bought the supercar seven years ago, after which it was finally acquired by Sam Moores.

The new owner sent it over to Maranello for restoration – but rather than entrusting it to the Ferrari factory, he chose Carrozzeria Zanasi to do the job. The company is sort of an in-house restorer for Ferrari, cooperating with the manufacturer across multiple projects, including Ferrari Classiche. Once it received the F40, it stripped off the aftermarket parts and had the body re-colored in blue very similar to a tint you may find in Porsche catalogs.

The car is deemed to be in perfect driving condition, having covered 25,975 kilometers (16,140 miles) prior to the restoration last month that saw its 2.9-liter V8 engine rebuilt anew.

Whoever bought the unique F40 this weekend shoveled over £1,000,500 for it.
