BMW X5 spotted underway to its next facelift

A prototype of the 2023 BMW X5 has been photographed on a road in Southern Europe, looking like it could be getting a major interior redesign.

Don’t be fooled by the lack of exterior wrap: what you see is most likely test mule bodywork, and will change before the market release. The cabin with its large displays is much more interesting: the current X5 has no such displays.

It looks like the facelifted SUV will debut with a 12.3-inch digital dash screen and a horizontal 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, just like the i4 and iX models before it. The X6 facelift spotted five months ago also had the same display configuration.

We also expect the new X5 to gain a wide range of electronic assists from the BMW iX. Having said that, the production car will probably only arrive in late 2022.
