Mercedes-Benz GLC gets ready to rumble on June 1

Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed rumors from a month and a half ago that the next-gen Mercedes-Benz GLC would debut on June 1, 2022. The car will be revealed online at 15:00 UTC (+0).

The company released an image of a camo-free GLC along with the announcement and provided some extra details. Among other things, the next-gen model is 60 mm (2.4 inches) longer than the current one with 15 mm (0.6 inches) of added wheelbase. Perhaps more importantly, the trunk size goes up from 550 to 600 liters (19.42 to 21.19 cubic feet, respectively).

The interior will mimic that of the latest C-Class, complete with a large 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.9-inch infotainment screen installed in a vertical orientation.

Customers will be able to choose from a number of petrol and diesel-based mild hybrids rated from 200 to 258 PS (197 – 254 hp; 147 – 190 kW). Another alternative comes in the form of a PHEV capable of 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and up to 100 km (62 miles) of all-electric range on a single charge.
