Drag Race: Nissan Z vs. Toyota Supra 3.0 vs. Ford Mustang Mach 1

In this series of quarter-mile drag races, the Japanese sports car goes up against a Toyota Supra 3.0 and a Ford Mustang Mach 1 . All three cost almost the same with the Z undercutting the competition slightly with $51,000, the Mustang coming second with $55,500 and the Supra trailing with $56,000.

From the performance standpoint, the Mach 1 is the strongest of the trio with 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW) in the U.S. spec. However, at 1,746 kilos (3,850 lbs), it is also the heaviest of the bunch. The Nissan Z is more than a hundred kilos (220+ lbs) lighter and makes do with 405 PS (400 hp / 298 kW). The Supra trails again with 382 PS (377 hp / 281 kW) at the output end, but it tips the scales at just 1,520 kg (3,351 lbs).

One final thing to note is that the Z rode on Bridgestone tires, while the other two had Michelin tires on.
