2023 Skoda Kamiq hits the road in Austria

The Kamiq debuted in 2019 as Skoda’s smallest crossover SUV for Europe. Now, as evidenced by these spy photos, the car is on its way to a planned generation change.

The test vehicle was spotted driven on public roads somewhere in Austria. Its front end was camouflaged, but some notable updates could still be discerned. These begin with a new radiator grille and a more pronounced front bumper complete with new air intakes.

The rear end makes do with smaller modifications. The taillights retain their external shapes, but the light patterns inside are different. The bumper looks like it might be slightly redesigned, but overall agrees with the style of the current generation (shown in the video).

While Skoda will most likely keep the engines unchanged in terms of power, they might end up with new, lower-emission internals necessary for the car to stay relevant in Europe as the laws grow stricter.
