Mercedes-Benz A-Class goes through a planned upgrade

Back in 2018, Mercedes introduced the A-Class sedan and hatchback (spacing them by a few months). Now, it has updated both models at the same time.

The facelift changes the way the headlights and taillights look and also touches upon the radiator grille and the bumpers. Inside, the infotainment display now starts from a 10.25-inch standard size, but you still have to pay extra to get a digital dash screen the same size. Safety aids have been improved all around, and the MBUX system can now be configured to tell you about any worthy landmarks you may encounter on your way to a destination.

Starting now, all gasoline engines the A-Class comes with are hybridized and make 136–224 PS (134–221 hp; 100–165 kW, respectively). The plug-in hybrid spec stays unchanged at 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, but you can now charge it faster using an AC power outlet. Finally, there are three diesel options ranging from 116 to 190 PS (114–187 hp; 85–140 kW). The standard transmission for all specs is eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.
