Rolls-Royce introduces a special Wraith

The British luxury automaker has announced a new Wraith special edition with the overlong title ‘Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow’. Only twelve will be made, reflecting the cylinder count under the hood and saying a formal ‘farewell’ to the marque’s use of V12 in coupes.

The vivid yellow accents and the ring around the Spirit of Ecstasy bonnet ornament are both actually homage to the RR Thunderbolt supercar that set a world acceleration record in 1938. It packed not just one, but two twelve-cylinder engines.

The entire body of the special Wraith is coated with a texture meant to resemble the surface of the Bonneville Salt Flats. Another interesting detail can be found on the dashboard – there is a detailed schematic of V12 internals there. Finally, the timepiece on the dash says 357.497 mph (575.335 km/h) – this is the speed the Thunderbolt was able to achieve during its record-breaking run almost a century ago.

The entire production run has already been sold out.
