Pagani’s racing sim rig has a panoramic display, all-carbon exterior

Pagani and Racing Unleashed have teamed up on producing a racing sim rig named after the Huayra R. It will be offered to Huayra supercar owners first and everyone else second. The price is pending.

The sim rig is 3,110 mm (121.5 inches) long and sports a carbon-fiber body manufactured at the same facility where Pagani produces its supercar components. Like the real racers, it has air vents, but they serve to cool PC hardware parts instead of an internal combustion engine.

The seat, the steering wheel and the aluminum pedals deliver sensations that Pagani claims are indistinguishable from getting inside a genuine Huayra R (see video). A large curved display helps with the immersion, as does a VR headset, a 5.1-channel audio setup and a seat suspension system.

The press release neglects to mention the game that’s installed. It might as well be a proprietary sim developed for Pagani, because the description promises players “the ultimate realism” in driving the Italian marque’s cars. Sin rig owners can do single-player races to get better acquainted with new tracks or hold multiplayer tournaments.
