Spied: Hyundai Ioniq 5 preparing to go off-road

The all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 lineup has recently been complemented with a racecar (see photos 3–8 and the video). It now looks like an off-roader is underway, too.

Car spotters in the United States have spotted this camouflaged Ioniq 5 out in the streets (photos 1 and 2). As you can see, it wore an edgier front bumper with towing eyes, roof rails and high-profile tires wrapped in 235/60 R18 tires.

It’s likely that the SUV has other overland-friendly upgrades as well, but it is still disguised. We should learn more after the official premiere.
