Honda announces a trio of EVs under new 'Ye' brand for China

The Honda Ye vehicle lineup is all-electric by design and doesn’t allow for installing an internal combustion engine. It will originally consist of a liftback and two SUVs set to go into production this year.

The SUVs are called Ye P7 and Ye S7. They have identical bodies and interiors with only minor trim differences. The main difference is that the P7 will be made at the GAC-Honda factory and the S7 at Dongfeng-Honda.

The underlying unibody vehicle architecture is called e:N Architecture W. It supports two types of electric powertrains: single-motor/RWD and dual-motor/AWD. The suspension features an independent multi-link design. The batteries are supplied by CATL, while Huawei provides the electronic systems.

Rounding off the trio is the Ye GT liftback. It sports frameless doors and a pop-up tailgate spoiler. Like its SUV cousins, it relies on video cameras instead of side mirrors.

The company plans to launch both crossovers into production later this year, with the liftback set to follow in 2025. All technical info remains secret – no dimensions, power or range estimates thus far. Honda says it plans to expand the Ye family to six different EVs in China by 2027.
