Dongfeng unveils a superbuggy with Brabus vibes

Dongfeng has shared the first photos of a new Mengshi M-Hero “M Hunter Edition”. The vehicle resembling the Brabus 900 Crawler is expected to debut in Beijing on April 25, AutoHome reports. The company should reveal at the show whether it is a one-off or part of a limited series.

In the meantime, details are scarce. Compared to the standard M-Hero model, the M Hunter looks drastically different with all-new body panels, a brush guard at the front, a winch and basic lattice doors. The roof is also gone, replaced with a light panel mounted on the roll cage, and the ground clearance is much higher than stock.

It looks like the car – which now resembles a buggy prototype for rally raids more than anything – has only two seats inside, leaving the space behind them for spare wheels and such. It also appears to be using lots of carbon parts, although this remains to be confirmed, too.

As we said above, the new M-Hero reminds us of the famous 900 Crawler model by Brabus. It debuted two years ago based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 chassis. Both off-roaders look similar in concept and in design, sporting a dark exterior with red accents.

In China, the normal M-Hero (see video) comes in all-electric and part-electric flavors rated at 1,088 PS (1,073 hp / 800 kW) and 816 PS (805 hp / 600 kW), respectively.
