Nissan will retire the Altima sedan in 2025, Automotive News reports quoting its own sources. Motor1 adds that the Versa will be discontinued in the same year.
In a recent interview with The Drive, the Japanese automaker neither confirmed nor refuted these rumors, instead just stating that the company continues investing in sedans.
The sixth generation of the Altima was introduced in 2018 and received a mild update last year with some exterior retouches and an improved multimedia system. In the United States, the current Altima is offered with 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter petrol engines to choose between, as well as FWD and AWD. Prices start from $25,730.
The fourth-generation Versa debuted four years ago and was also lightly upgraded in 2022. In the USA, the Mexican-made car is sold with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and costs from $15,980.
