A quarter-mile run took place in New South Wales, Australia earlier this month that saw an R34-gen Nissan GT-R smash through a four-year-old record by covering the distance in 8.6 seconds.
According to the owner, the Godzilla had its engine stroked out to 3.4 liters, its turbo setup upgraded and its fuel system switched to E85. This and countless other improvements resulted in the wheels receiving all of 1,768 PS (1,744 hp / 1,300 kW). The car may be not capable of sustaining this kind of output for long before overheating, but in the few moments that it can, it surpasses any Bugatti Chiron in raw acceleration.
Other highlights of this insane project include a six-speed twin-plate sequential transmission, racing-grade air filters and fuel injectors, Turbosmart fuel lines, an aftermarket intercooler and a Plazmaman intake system. The wheels used are 18 inches in diameter.
