Nissan Juke EV spied testing

When Nissan revealed that a new generation of its Juke crossover was coming in 2026, it hinted at a plug-in hybrid powertrain. However, these spy shots posted on CarBuzz make us believe that a fully electric version could also be in development.

The new Juke is still wearing camo, but the bodywork underneath looks production-ready or at least close. There’s a readily recognizable rear end with short side doors, narrow windows and wide fenders, and the door handles are in the same positions as always. The front end seems to be different, though, inspired by the latest Nissan Leaf.

Curiously enough, it appears that the next-gen Juke has no visible radiator grille or tailpipes. Based on these telltale signs, CarBuzz speculates that it is built on the same EV platform as the Leaf. As such, it may wind up with an e-motor capable of 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) or so and around 483 km (300 miles) of range.

In an earlier announcement, Nissan revealed that the new Juke would utilize its e-Power hybrid system featuring a completely new and purpose-designed internal combustion engine. Well, it now looks like the company is getting multiple versions of the same car ready to rumble in 2026; whether they debut simultaneously or one after another remains to be seen.
