2024 Opel Combo arrives in 3 powertrain flavors

The next model year of the Opel Combo will see it shipping with petrol, diesel and electric motors to choose from. The ordering will become available in late 2023, but some of the details are already here.

Compared to the pre-facelift version, the newcomer sports a distinct front end design that Opel calls ‘Visor’. It basically merges the radiator grille with headlight units into a single panel. The headlights can now be optioned with Matrix LEDs, and the Combo is advertised as the first van in the segment to offer this premium feature. Called Intelli-Lux, these headlights consist of 14 LEDs each and can automatically reshape the beam as appropriate. For instance, when a car is spotted on the opposite lane, some of the LEDs switch off for a while so as not to blind the driver.

Inside, the steering wheel and the dashboard are new and the infotainment system runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware. The head unit is 10 inches large, but you can trade the central screen for a simple phone dock in base trim levels. The rearview mirror is digital and complemented by two cameras mounted above the rear doors and under the right side mirror.

Technical specifications are only available for the Combo Electric right now. Like before, it uses a 136-PS (134-hp / 100-kW) motor with a 50-kWh battery. However, like the recently updated Peugeot E-Rifter based on the same chassis, the Combo facelift gets a range improvement. Specifically, it now covers 330 km (205 miles) on a charge – 50 km. or 31 miles, more than before.

Buyers can also choose from two available body lengths and multiple interior layouts, including a premium five-seater version. The useful cargo space can reach 4,400 liters (155.4 cubic feet).
