Manthey’s tuned Porsche 911 GT3 is faster around the ‘Ring

Porsche and its faithful Manthey Racing Team have unveiled the fruit of their latest collaboration – a 911 GT3 (992.2) that sets Nürburgring records without any powertrain modifications.

True to its tradition, the team prefers to tweak the suspension, the brakes and the aerodynamic profile of a car to maximize its track performance. The engine remains stock, but the modifications are enough for the 911 GT3 to complete the North Loop in 6 minutes 52.98 seconds, coming 2.76 seconds ahead of the pre-facelift 911 GT3.

When Porsche unleashed its latest 911 GT3 (992.2) on Germany’s most formidable raceway in April this year, it became recognized as the Nürburgring’s fastest production car with manual transmission, crossing the finish line in 6 minutes 56.29 seconds. Manthey’s tuned version has now surpassed it by 3.31 seconds.

According to the team, the entire aerodynamic setup of the car had to be redesigned from scratch to prioritize track handling. The front bumper had to be reshaped and stretched by 12 mm (0.5”), the rear diffuser fins had to be enlarged and the entire undercarriage had to be plated with low-drag materials. The rear wheels ended up with custom carbon-fiber hubcaps, and a completely new rear wing was introduced with special side winglets and a larger active surface.

As a result, the 911 GT3 can generate up to 540 kilograms (1,190 pounds) of downforce moving at 285 km/h (177 mph), Manthey claims.

Suspension shocks with a variable compression ratio and 10% stiffer springs are listed under standard upgrades, too. Options include lightweight wheels reducing the unsprung weight of the car by a total of 6 kilos (13.2 pounds) and racing-spec brake pads. Owners may also choose from multiple exterior styling options while at it.

Manthey Racing says its tuning package for the 992.2-generation 911 GT3 will be available through Porsche authorized dealerships starting in the spring of 2026. The pricing is unknown, but a similar kit for the pre-facelift GT3 cost around €38,000 before options.
