Porsche Boxster track weapon could be yours for €100k

Someone is trying to sell a first-generation 1997 Porsche Boxster for a cool price of €100,000 – the latest 718 Boxster in mint condition will cost you roughly €35,000 less. The seller explains that his roadster was rebuilt from the ground up as a speedster-shaped track tool.

The tuning company responsible for the project has extended the wheel span and replaced the entire bodywork with Kevlar and carbon-fiber panels. The aerodynamic performance has been improved thanks to a large rear wing and an air intake hump behind the seats. The windshield has been replaced with a smaller visor.

The interior has been stripped of nearly every stock piece of equipment. A new carbon-fiber dashboard has been installed along with new gauges; further additions included a couple of racing seats, a number of switches and a roll cage. In the end, the car has lost approximately 300 kilos (660 pounds), going down to just 980 kg (2,160 lbs).

The listing doesn’t reveal any suspension-related specifics, but the photos suggest that the ground clearance is barely even there. The sports car runs on 18-inch centerlock wheels and makes use of AP brakes along with a racing-grade ABS.

The 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine under the hood produces 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW). The seller claims the car is fully functional and fit for track days and various racing events.
