It has been more than two decades since Porsche introduced the original Cayenne, and it is currently going through its third major iteration. Carwow wanted to find out how far ahead it had come in terms of tech and sheer acceleration potential.
The first contestant is a Cayenne Turbo armed with a 4.5-liter V8 driven by dual turbos to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. The second-gen example is a more potent Turbo S spec with superior 4.8 liters of displacement, 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Aside from being considerably more powerful, it also weighs 100 kilos (220 pounds) less than the Mk1.
Rounding off the trio is a Mk3 Turbo S e-Hybrid packing 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. It is the most powerful, but also the heaviest of the three cars.
Watch the video to see how the races went.
