An all-electric Macan prototype has been nabbed on camera during its final pre-production tests. You may think it is camo-free, but a closer look will reveal ‘smart’ body-matching masking all around.
It is still evident that the headlights are split in sections. The taillights and what looks like a light bar between them are likewise disguised using numerous discreet decals.
Porsche envisions the electric Macan with a slanted roofline and charging ports on both rear fenders. Oddly enough, the door handles are still traditional. Many automakers, especially those interested in EVs, go for the pull-out handle design nowadays to minimize drag.
The new Macan runs on a platform known as PPE and uses twin electric motors to drive its wheels with 600+ horsepower (450+ kilowatts). Its battery stores up to 100 kWh of power.
