Rimac Nevera sets a world speed record among EVs

Rimac Automobili has reported successfully claiming an all-time high score in EV acceleration with its Nevera hypercar. The Croatian ride hit 412 km/h (256 mph) in a straight line.

The run took place at the Automotive Testing Papenburg raceway in Germany. The track has two straight stretches four kilometers long each, enabling the race to be held in full accordance with the established requirements.

For the purpose of the run, the car put on road-legal Michelin Cup 2R tires. Miro Zrncevic, the chief test pilot of Rimac who actively participated in the development, sat before the steering wheel.

Customers who ordered a Nevera EV will receive it capped at 352 km/h (218.7 miles per hour) out of safety concerns. The company promises to make exclusions and lift the cap at special racing events as long as all the necessary safety measures are provided.
