The Tiggo 9 CSH is a plug-in hybrid SUV and Chery’s first vehicle to run on an innovative platform known as the T2X.
The abbreviation CSH stands for “Chery Super Hybrid”, which refers to the automaker's fifth-generation powertrain. With the battery maxed out, the SUV only consumes 1.4 liters of gas per 100 km/h in combined cycle, the company claims quoting official NEDC measurements. That’s 168 miles per U.S. gallon.
The battery is also enough for 170 km (105 miles) of fully electric driving, Chery claims. Leaving it empty will force the engine to burn through 5.5 liters per 100 km (42.7 MPG), but maxing out both will extend the range to 1,400 kilometers (870 miles), or even more.
All four wheels are driven, allowing the Tiggo 9 CSH to go 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.7 seconds.
