Tesla rolls out a software update for S and X suspension

The U.S. electric car maker improves the way the air-cushioned suspension works on its S and X models, adding features with a simple software update.

The first edit changes the way the temporary ride height boost works. Previously, the driver could choose to lift the suspension temporarily when needed, but could not control the duration of the effect. As a result, the car automatically reverted to its previous ride height after a while. Once updated, the software will maintain the new ride height until the driver changes it again or accelerates past a certain threshold.

The other edit adds a location-aware clearance adjustment feature. Every time you enter a certain pre-set area (such as the driveway to your country house), the car acknowledges this via GPS and increases the clearance accordingly.
