All-new Cadillac CT5 debuts in New York
Car manufacturer Cadillac has started its 2019 New York International Auto Show program with revealing the exterior and specs of its new CT5 sedan/saloon, which comes as a replacement for the old CTS. Once the model enters the market, it will mainly have to fight against the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class for consumer attention.
The vehicle is 4,924 mm (16.15 ft.) long, 1,883 mm (6.18 ft.) wide and 1,452 mm (4.76 ft.) tall with 2,947 mm (9.67 ft.) separating its axles. As such, it is slightly larger than the CTS, but still somewhat smaller than the BMW 5-Series.
Standard features include front seats with heating and massage functions as well as 18 power adjustments, remote engine start, a 10-inch multimedia display, remote climate control operation, and other similar comfort-oriented options.
Customers will be able to grab their own CT5 with either a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine rated at 240 hp (179 kW) or a larger 3.0-liter V6 unit producing up to 340 hp (254 kW). The former generates up to 350 Nm (258 lbft) of maximum torque, while the latter churns out a healthy 542 Nm (400 lbft). Both link to a 10-speed automatic transmission and are available in FWD and AWD versions.
Options for the new Cadillac CT5 include the Super Cruise autopilot feature based on a front-facing LIDAR sensor, GPS navigation, and a 360-degree camera set.
