Pics of Tesla's most powerful Model 3 so far leak online

Teslarati has posted shots of a camo-free vehicle rumored to be the new Tesla Model 3 “Ludicrous”. Someone apparently leaked these from a private reveal event in California.

Right now, the Model 3 is offered in two main versions – Standard (single-motor) and Long Range (dual-motor). You can take a look at the current version in the video here. The Performance spec that used to be available before the facelift is not on sale anymore, but it would make sense for the rumored “Ludicrous” version to fill the gap.

A closer look at the photos reveals subtly reshaped bumpers with extra air intakes and a larger trunk lid spoiler. All details remain to be revealed. Insiders had claimed before that the Ludicrous would sprint 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) in 2.9 seconds – more than a second faster than the current top spec. It would require activating a special launch mode, though.

Trim-wise, the car will allegedly get adaptive suspension with multiple shock absorber settings to switch among, sport seats in the front row, and a multimedia system with an improved UI. Just when it may get a public premiere is still unknown.

The Model 3 received its latest mid-generational refresh, dubbed “Highland”, last fall. It ended up with design tweaks, more battery range and advanced multimedia features.
