Suzuki has shed light on its EV production plans for the Old World countries. The company plans to produce five zero-emission vehicles for this region until the end of the decade, and a new teaser pic suggests one of these will be a Jimny EV.
You can spot the Jimny easily among the five darkened silhouettes of cars. The remaining four seem to include three smaller crossover SUVs and one Kei car (or compact van).
By the beginning of the next decade. Suzuki expects 80% of its sales in Europe to fall on electric vehicles. The order in which these will be introduced and launched is still unknown, though, and the company has no EVs on sale in the region yet.
The marque’s first battery car is scheduled to reach the assembly lines next year. We do not know if it is going to be an in-house design or a licensed model from another brand.
In early 2023, Maruti Suzuki India unveiled a concept SUV named the eVX (in the gallery and video below). The prototype is comparable with the Hyundai Creta in terms of size and is slated to reach production soon. Co-designed with the assistance from Toyota, it will offer up to 550 km (342 miles) of driving range and be available worldwide.
