Tesla sales fall 12% in California

California is as progressive as one can wish for when it comes to EV adoption, but it saw a 12% decline in Tesla car sales last year.

While Elon Musk’s company managed to find buyers for roughly 230,000 vehicles in Cali in 2023, it couldn’t move more than 203,000 in the year that followed. As a result, the share of Tesla in the local EV sales structure fell from 60.1% to 52.5%.

That’s still an overwhelming majority, but with the government of the state threatening Musk with a cancellation of all subsidies on Tesla cars, the market share may continue to shrink.
