The YouTube team of Hagerty has brought together some of the world’s fastest cars – a Lucid Air ran against a Tesla Model S and a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, with a cameo by a Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 superbike.
Both the Lucid Air Sapphire and the Tesla Model S Plaid have three motors at their disposal. The former inches out a narrow power advantage at 1,217 PS (1,200 hp / 895 kW), but the latter is no slouch itself with 1,033 PS (1,020 hp / 760 kW).
The Chiron Pur Sport is recognized as the world’s fastest production car running on fossil fuel. It is also the strongest of the bunch with 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW) at the wheels. However, instant acceleration and torque matter much more in a quarter-mile race than top speed does, so the Pur Sport is actually at a bit of a disadvantage here.
Watch the entire video – complete with enjoyable special effects and comments – to find out how the trio compared. We will just say that the winner managed to hit 251 km/h (156 mph) at the finish line.
