Toyota Century SUV touches down in Japan, costs from ¥25M

Toyota has officially introduced a reimagined version of its luxury saloon Century, which is now an SUV and costs a cool 25,000,000 Yen on its domestic market.

The car is 5,205 mm (203.3 in) long, 1,990 mm (77.7 in) wide and 1,805 mm (70.5 in) tall with 2,950 mm (115.2 in) between the axles. It rides on 22-inch wheels and has minivan-style sliding doors in the top spec (the base trim level comes with regular doors).

The second seat row is represented by two individual seats separated with a console. They offer all creature comforts imaginable and can recline for rest or massage.

Only one powertrain has been announced thus far, and it is a hybrid. A 3.5-liter petrol V6 churns out 262 PS (258 hp / 193 kW) and 335 Nm (247 lb-ft) of torque. A front electric motor adds 182 PS (180 hp / 134 kW) and 270 Nm (201 lb-ft) of torque, and a rear one contributes another 109 PS (108 hp / 80 kW) with 169 Nm (125 lb-ft). The electric range is middling at 69 km (43 miles), perhaps due to the weight.
