Expedition 7 is taking preorders for a motorhome based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 200, suitable for two people embarking on a long transcontinental journey.
Greg Miller and Scott Brady, the creators behind the Expedition 7, have made a trip around the entire world on their Land Cruiser camper, entering history as the first people to have visited all seven continents on the same vehicle (hence the number in the name). They drove an older Land Cruiser 70 model, putting around 98,000 kilometers (60,000 miles) behind them, but the camper conversion they are offering now uses the more up-to-date Cruiser 200 platform as the starting point.
The duo explains that the car was chosen because of its universal availability, meaning that the owners should not have any trouble obtaining the required maintenance regardless of the continent they happen to be on.
The dimensions of the car remain unchanged, as does the engine. For U.S. customers, it means a 5.7-liter V8 churning out 386 PS (381 hp; 284 kW).
Only seven such vehicles will be made and named after one of the Earth’s continents. Only five will be sold at undisclosed prices, while the remaining two will stay in the company.
