Toyota Land Cruiser Prado sells out in 30 minutes in Germany

The new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has become a sales hit in Europe, CarBuzz reports claiming that all 1,000 First Edition units have been reserved in Germany within half an hour from launch, translating into a new reservation every 1.8 seconds. Note that the actual deliveries will not start until Q3 2024.

The customers were apparently unperturbed by the fact that the local branch of Toyota neglected to reveal the full pricing of the SUV. The new Prado – which will just be called ‘Toyota Land Cruiser’ in Europe – will be available in Executive, Tec Edition and First Edition trims, judging by the official website.

Germany is not alone in this situation. In Spain, the local media have reported 250 pre-orders within a few hours. All of them were maxed-out First Edition trims sporting round headlamps and coming in at a cool €85,950 (U.S. $94,800) before any options.

CarBuzz points out that the new Prado is scheduled to reach North America next spring, but Toyota still hasn’t opened its pre-order books on that market. Reportedly, the company will offer 5,000 First Edition SUVs there.
