Australian SUVs, pickups and utes normally get modified for overlanding, but Walkinshaw wanted to mix things up a little when it built the W600.
It’s essentially a lightly modded Volkswagen Amarok (like the one in the video above) designed for faster driving on the road. It’s being shown with a camouflaged front end because the build is still in progress. Once complete, it will go on sale with a custom radiator grille, a different front bumper, fender extensions and 20-inch wheels in Michelin road tires. It will also sport a roll bar over the bed and take advantage of multiple Koni suspension parts for sharper cornering.
Power for the upgraded Amarok comes from the country’s standard 3.0-liter diesel mill rated at 250 PS (247 hp / 184 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. A performance exhaust system does spice things up a bit for the driver, but that’s about all.
