Volvo EX30 Cross Country bows with 422 PS going to four wheels

Volvo has unveiled the most wilderness-friendly version of its EX30 model. The SUV is the first all-electric Volvo to wear the company’s Cross Country badge and boasts a rugged body kit alongside a suspension lift.

The standard Volvo EX30 is closely related to a whole number of Geely EVs manufactured in China. The list includes such entries as Lynk & Co Z20, Zeekr X, and Smart #1 & #3. Compared to its stock sibling, the Cross Country version boasts 19 mm (0.8 inches) of added ground clearance. It also benefits from slid plates, blacked-out trim bits and special wheels shod in off-road tires. Options include a kayak mount for the roof, a camping tent and a towing hook. The interior stays unchanged.

The Cross Country spec is AWD by default, sending 422 PS (416 hp / 310 kW) to all four corners. Its battery is medium-sized at 69 kWh and good for 427 km (265 miles), Volvo says. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes 26 minutes.
