Volvo complains about U.S. tariffs, tells buyers to brace for impact

According to Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars, the automaker has no viable way of leveraging the extra spending caused by President Trump’s tariffs other than by raising prices across the board.

Should these tariffs enter into force – which is still uncertain, but uncertainty also costs money in the industry – Volvo says it will have to stop exporting the EX30 electric SUV to the United States.

The EX30 is currently only being made in China. It seems unlikely that the Swedish company has what it takes to launch a second production line in the US.
