Xiaomi has yet to begin shipping its SU7 sedan, but it has already developed a new, long-range variant of it, CnEvPost claims referencing China’s Ministry of Industry database.
The company initially registered two SU7 versions in late 2023. The entry-level spec gets a single motor on the rear axle with 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It comes bundled with a smaller 73.6-kWh battery pack rated at 668 km (415 miles) of CLTC-rated range.
The top spec called the SU7 Max gets twin motors with 673 PS (664 hp / 495 kW) and 838 Nm (618 lb-ft) of torque in total and a larger 101-kWh battery. Its range is CLTC-rated at 800 km (497 miles).
According to the recent database update, there will also be a third version of the car. Its battery capacity is not mentioned in the patent claim, but it weighs 2,090 kg (4,607 lbs) despite having only one motor at the rear axle. The entry-level spec weighs 110 kg (242 lbs) less than that. CnEvPost believes that this version will pack a bigger battery and cover more ground per charge. This remains to be confirmed, though.
