Video: Chinese supercar excels at Gymkhana stunts

YouTuber UPDRIFT has posted a nine-minute-long vid dedicated to Xiaomi’s ultimate electric car, the SU7 Ultra packing 1,548 PS (1,527 hp / 1,140 kW). The whole thing reminds us of the better days when we still had Ken Block and his insane Gymkhana driving, although – credit where it’s due – the Chinese sedan still puts up an amazing show.

The short video manages to fit pretty much all traditional stunts in less than 10 minutes. The SU7 Ultra can be seen cooking up some wild drift donuts, burning tires, “licking” walls and guardrails and engaging in all sorts of unsafe rally fun. It also confronts an obstacle in the form of two Lincoln limos in one of the more impressively filmed scenes.

The description states that the driver was none other than Ye Zhicheng, an experienced stunt performer. Thanks to his mastery and some creative videography, the result honestly looks on par with the original Gymkhana – to us, at least. We don’t know if more episodes are in the schedule, but we’ll be looking forward to it.
