Xpeng is surely taking its time revealing the all-electric G9. The latest images show us the cabin dominated by three displays taking up almost the entire dashboard.
A compact-sized digital dash screen sits behind the steering wheel, accompanied by two identical-looking large displays serving infotainment system purposes. The rightmost display is obviously intended for the front passenger, and while the idea itself is by no means new, it is very rarely that we see a passenger’s screen as large as this.
There are some hardware buttons on the steering wheel, but that seems to be all. The transmission tunnel has a slight slope where the center console usually is, so there is no traditional console to speak of. You still get a wireless charging pad and a pair of cupholders, though. Metallic speaker grilles and ambient lighting sources can also be seen around the cabin.
Pre-orders have been running since morning, but Xpeng has yet to reveal the full price.
Coming in at nearly five meters long, the G9 will ship with two electric powertrains to choose from, rated at 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) in single-motor and 551 PS (432 hp / 405 kW) in dual-motor spec. A 96-kWh traction battery on board will grant you from 650 to 702 km (404–436 miles) of driving range depending on the spec chosen. Air suspension is available as a premium feature.
