Xpeng P7 Wing debuts with Lambo-style wing doors

Gull-wing doors are usually reserved for high-end sports cars, so if you want them on a wallet-friendly ride, tuning is often the only way to go. The Wing version of the Xpeng P7 EV, which debuted at the ongoing Guangzhou show, has them straight from the factory.

Electric drives are used to automatically lift and lower the doors, with special in-built sensors preventing collisions with obstacles. Owners are free to set their preferred opening angle. Other than that, the Wing Edition offers a 10.25-inch digital dash, a 14.97-inch infotainment touchscreen, an XPilot 3.0 assist package, and a Dynaudio system of 18 speakers.

Customers may choose between Super-Long Range RWD and High-Performance AWD variants. The former packs a single engine rated at 266 PS (262 hp / 196 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. The battery holds up to 80.9 kilowatt-hours of charge, which translates into 670+ km (416 miles) of NEDC-rated driving range. The other one has dual motors, rated at 163 PS (121 hp / 90 kW) and 266 PS (262 hp / 196 kW) front and rear, respectively. The cumulative torque maxes out at 655 Nm (483 lb-ft), and the range hovers close to 562 km (349 miles).
