According to Carscoops posting these photos from Brazil, this is the world’s first bulletproof Zeekr 001. It may look like a generic EV from China, but only until you look inside.
The owner didn’t disclose the level of protection, but you can see bulletproof glass and armor plating used all around. Most aren’t very thick, and that panoramic roof is often considered impossible in a well-armored car, so we suspect it’s on the lighter side. Then again, electric cars weigh quite a bit on their own, so going light makes sense.
There’s also no info on whether it was Zeekr or an aftermarket shop that carried out the conversion. We are leaning towards the latter, but there should be a decent market for street-legal armored vehicles in Brazil.
In its starting RWD spec, the Zeekr 001 comes equipped with a single electric motor driving the rear wheels with 422 PS (416 hp / 310 kW). It sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.9 seconds. There’s also an AWD spec that commands 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and a 3.3-second sprint time.
