Fiat Ducato-based motorhome stuns visitors of the CMT 2019

Skydancer Apero – a custom motorhome conversion of the Fiat Ducato van – could perhapd be called the single most impressive reveal of the 2019 CMT show in Stuttgart, Germany.

Built by Skydancer CEO Peter Kubinski, this is the first production-ready campervan the company has designed. Five years ago, Kubinski showed us a rather similar-looking concept vehicle, but it never made it into series.

The Skydancer Apero is full seven meters (23 ft.) long, 3,050 mm (10 ft.) tall and weighs three and a half metric tons (~7,700 lbs). It rides on the Fiat Ducato Maxi chassis powered by a diesel engine with 150 hp / 112 kW.

The driver’s seat is located on the top deck of the vehicle, along with three rotating passenger seats, a folding table, and broad side windows that promise some great panoramic views. The roof can be folded back electronically.

You can deploy a folding bed for two on the top deck in a minute or so, and there is another bed hidden in the back part of the lower deck, accessible via a ladder. Underneath it lies a storage compartment for various equipment and tools, where you may also store a bike or a scooter.

The kitchenette area manages to offer a gas stove, an enormous fridge, a sink and even a WC. There is even a CNG-based central heating system, but the manufacturer still recommends to only use the campervan when it’s warm outside.

Right now, the Skydancer Apero exists in a single copy that sells for €128,500. The model has all the necessary certificates in Europe, so you may as well order another copy built just for you.
