G-Wagon celebrates its 40th birthday with a special edition

The Mercedes G-Class series celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, as well as 20 years of the G 55 AMG model. To commemorate both, the company will be releasing a limited edition that it calls ‘Stronger Than Time’. The anniversary batch will consist of three versions to choose from: G 400 d, G 500, and the range-topping G 63.

All versions will sport special emblems and logos, as well as side mirror lights than can project the G logo and the title of the series onto the road. All cars will ship with the preinstalled AMG Line package, which will include a new front bumper with large air intakes, fender flares, 20-inch wheels with high-polish spokes, LED lighting throughout, a sunroof, the entire range of electronic driver aids, and a high-end audio system. The G 63 version will additionally trade its chrome body elements for black ones and ride on larger 22-inch rims.

Buyers of the Stronger Than Time series will be able to choose from three available cabin trims. These include beige/red leather plus piano lacquer highlights; black leather w/gold stitching plus coarse-pored ashwood highlights; and beige/blue leather plus light brown natural wood highlights. The G 63 will get its own grey/black interior trim interspersed with carbon fiber ornamentations.
