Buick Enclave enjoys a few minor updates, spawns a sports version

The Enclave is the single largest and most expensive sport utility vehicle on the Buick lineup. The latest generation of the seven-seat, all-wheel-drive crossover SUV only arrived two years ago, so no one expected it to get an update this early. Nonetheless, the U.S. manufacturer did announce a few changes pending later this year.

For one, the Enclave will soon be available in a new ‘warmed-up’ specification called Sports Touring. It features a new radiator grille design (fine mesh with a bezel painted to match the body), large 20-inch wheels and sports-themed interior mods. The top trim – Avenir – also shows slight adjustments in the shape of its lower front bumper.

Buick also brings the multimedia system up to date, increases resolution of the video cameras, and adds a vibration massage function to the front seats (the latter is a paid option).

The crossover still comes equipped with the same old 3.6-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine churning out 314 hp (234 kW) in conjunction with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The update comes with a perceptible price bump for the Buick Enclave, which now costs U.S. $41,200 (+$1,200).
