Paper Drift: It’s what racecar drivers do during lockdown, apparently

The Papadakis Racing team, thrice prizewinner of the Formula Drift series, is every bit as bored of staying home during the Covid-19 crisis as we are, so it brought us this awesome video showing off homemade paper drift cars.

There is a faithfully recreated Toyota Supra wearing the team’s Rockstar Energy colors. There is also an elderly Corolla, whose real-life counterpart hides 1,000 hp (745 kW) under the hood, and a GT86.

The smoke you see here is made of cotton wool, and the DIY racetrack itself uses parts from real-life drift cars. The paper vehicles can be seen in a variety of scenarios racing each other and avoiding obstacles, such as a rotating camshaft.
